”Sea urchins”
The inspiration for this piece arose during an autumn walk on the secluded bay of Kato Kampos in Amorgos where to my surprise, I discovered dozens of dead sea urchins shells. This bizarre sight was magnificent but strange and uncomfortable at the same time.
This engraving work in black and red is an inner lament for these majestic creatures that had
intrigued me since i was a child.
The engraving technique used for this piece belongs to the family of relief printing, the oldest engraving method that appeared in the West in the 14th century. Specifically this is a linocut. The design is engraved on a sheet of linoleum with cutters and gouges. Only the parts that protrude from the matrix are printed and the representation is shown upside down. Printing is done by hand.

This is an original and limited edition work of art. It will add a contemporary artistic touch in your space. It is a valuable decorative object in your living room, bedroom or working area. I may also serve as a perfect gift for your friends, to whom you would like to express your love.
